After LME nickel boosted to US$100,000/ton on March 8, LME stopped trading for more than one week.
LME nickel resumed trading yesterday. As nickel restrained at trading limits at 5% above or below, huge selling orders made the price drop by 5%. Due to a technical issue, the LME immediately decided to suspend trading again.
According to understanding, LME is evaluating whether to increase the daily price limit for nickel. The LME nickel price might take a few days at a normal level. Affected by this, stainless steel sellers and buyers didn''t take the risk to have actions now and prefer to wait for the stable price level.
