US launches circumvention investigation on Mexican rebar- The 21st China (Guangzhou ) Int’l tube & pipe Processing Equipment Exhibition

The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) launched the circumvention investigation on Mexican rebar from this Tuesday (October 15th) to confirm if the Mexico rebar circumvents the current anti-dumping duty set by the US.
Currently, the rebar import from Mexico imposed the anti-dumping duty at 0% to 3.65%, depended on the manufacturer.
The circumvention investigation was requested by the US steel manufacturer, included Nucor, Gerdau Ameristeel, Byer Steel, Steel Dynamics Inc, Commercial Metals Co., and Cascade Steel.
Based on data from the USDOC, the total import value of rebar from Mexico was around US$51 million in 2018.
