Shanxi Province phases obsolete steel capacity in 2009
Shanxi comprehensively eliminates the obsolete production taking the lead to kill off small coal mines including all the mines with below 300000 tonnes. Small thermoelectricity and cement industry has in advance completed the task assigned by the 11th Five Year Plan.
It is learned that Shanxi will mainly promoted the integration and regroup among coal mines decreasing the number of provincial mines from 2600 to 1053.
Hong Fake president of Shanxi Province Economic and Information Committee stated that in 2009 Shanxi will phase out 2.33 million tonnes of the obsolete steel capacity and 1,076 million kilowatts of small thermoelectricity and 610000 tonnes of ferroalloy.
A large amount of obsolete capacity steps out of the market, creating the market content and development space for the new transition and changing production line projects. Hong Fake said that Shanxi combines the eliminating the obsolete capacity and the speeding up the technical reform and building the new advanced programs to lead support and help enterprises change their production line, technical reform and implement the new programs.
