In commemoration of its 70th anniversary, Athens, Tenn.-based metal fabricator Mills Products Inc. has donated 70 Thanksgiving turkeys to the Tennessee Wesleyan College Love Thy Neighbor Project in the name of its customers.
Founded in 1945 by Herbert E. Mills, the company uses hydroforming, tubular stamping, roll forming, and finishing to manufacture lightweight, strong tubular metal parts for the appliance, automotive, furniture, and heavy truck industries.
One of Mills’ pioneering achievements was a 1948 patent for the oven door window assembly, which allowed oven manufacturers to incorporate a pane of reinforced glass into oven doors so that users could view what was cooking without having to open the door.
